First few days with chicken pox

Recently I've been diagnosed with chicken pox. It's all started when my brother first came from his holiday from our home country, Indonesia and he had rashes all over him. At first we all thought that he had the measles as he had just taken the vacination not long ago. The following morning, we went to the ER and the doctor stated that my brother had the chicken pox. Since I have not gotten mine yet, the disease can be very contagious for me.
And sure around 2 weeks after the doctor diagnosed my brother that he had the chicken pox, rashes started to grow out of me.
At first, I did not want to belief myself that I had gotten the virus too but it all became a reality when the next day these rashes started to grow all over my bodies.
When I called my parents, they asked me to do a lot of things so as to make it recover faster, they said. Since we come from the east, they belief that we should not get shower when we got the chicken pox. But who can bear not to take shower for that long, i can just vision it with my eyes the uneasiness that I will be if I had not had my showers for that long of days.
Then, some of my friends said that i should put on the calamine lotion on the rashes so as to make liasions to get crusted faster.
Some said that i should take the avenoo oatmeal bath to relief myself from the itchiness. Some said that I should not consume any kind of soy sauce in the food.
Some said that I should only eat pork meat to make the liasions get crusted faster.
Some said that I should drink the bird's nest. While others just asked to put powders all around the rashes.
However, the most horrible thing would be to drink the corriander's seed. Well, my mom asked me to drink this. She said that in order to know if you really get chicken pox or not is to drink a cup of boiled water with 1 tablespoon of corriander's seed. You wait until the water became warm and you start to drink the essence abstracted from the corriander's seed; and you are supposed to drink this 3 times a day. The taste is actually just like ordinary water but the smell from the corriander's seed just makes me want to puke.
I had to force myself to drink this for a couple of days and finally on the second day, I just give up totally.
Also, the first few nights are just horrible, I couldn't get any sleep at all as it itches all around my bodies. I've dranked the benadryl, the doctor's recommedation, if I felt the itch but it just didn't work. How I wished that the doctor would prescribed some anti-itch medicine just like what my brother's doctor has given him to drink. It's just so unfair but thank God I only feel the itch for that 1 particular night only and I felt no more itches :)
Now, I am just waiting for the liasions to get crusted. Well, some of them had been crusted while others are starting to be crusted too. I am thinking that within a couple of more days I will be completely done with this chicken pox and hopefully had no scar whatsoever from it.
And when I become completely done with this I will be so ecstatic as there's not much that I can do since I need to stay inside the house. This is a very contagious disease especially for those who haven't got it before, well tell me about it, i got it from my beloved brother.
And also, people with chicken pox, they can't be around pregnant women, or people with AIDS as this can affect their health and make them to be in a horrible state.
Overall, I am glad that i got them now, while I am still not married yet. I heard that this can be harmful and may affect the child that I am carrying if I got them while I am pregnant, if I got them then. But, I am just thankful to God that I got them now while I am single. And everyone needs to get them at least once in their lifetime.
Well, I guess that's all and I'll keep some updated information on the days to come until I am completely done with chicken pox.
